Strategic foresight for leaders navigating structural change
Governing power no longer sits neatly inside traditional institutions. Corporations shape workplace norms and supply-chain ethics. Platforms create the rules for how information flows. Communities and networks develop their own accountability systems where public institutions fall short.
Leaders feel this shift, but may lack a framework to interpret what it means for strategy, resilience, and long-range planning. My work helps leadership teams make sense of these structural changes and act with clarity.
I bring two decades of experience across defense, corporate strategy, philanthropy, and academia to help organizations see what’s emerging, understand the implications, and make more confident decisions in uncertain environments.
I partner with leaders who need structured foresight to navigate complexity, anticipate risk, and prepare for what’s ahead.

What I Do
I work with executive teams, foundations, public agencies, and mission-driven organizations navigating
long-term change. My focus is straightforward: provide clear insight into structural shifts and help leaders
translate that insight into action.
Advisory
Ongoing strategic counsel for leaders who need a trusted partner to sense emerging risks, evaluate
options, and support long-range decisions.
Strategic Foresight Projects
Horizon scans, scenario development, and structured foresight processes that help organizations define uncertainties, test assumptions, and build resilient strategies.
Executive Education & Thought Partnership
Workshops, briefings, and facilitation designed to build foresight capacity within teams. I also partner with leaders on research and narrative framing for complex issues.
Organizations I support often face industry or governance transitions, evolving regulatory environments, shifting social expectations, or long-term market uncertainty. They want clarity, disciplined foresight methods, and a partner who can turn complexity into coherent options.
“I looked to find someone who not only had done work in uncertain circumstances, but who brought a discipline to the approach. With that said, I could not have been more happy with the level of thought partnership and original ideas that Amy brought into the project…we were able to bring the internal clients along and create something really extraordinary. The project itself was seen as an extreme success and it could not have been done without the partnership of Amy. ”

Experience
My work sits at the intersection of strategy, governance, and long-range change. Over the past two decades, I’ve advised senior leaders in government, industry, philanthropy, and research institutions on how emerging technologies, information dynamics, and shifting power structures reshape strategic choices.
My experience is intentionally broad. I’ve worked inside the U.S. national security community, led strategy functions in the private sector, taught graduate courses on foresight and technology, and run an international futures organization. That mix gives me a practical understanding of how institutions operate, where they get stuck, and how to help leaders navigate uncertainty with clarity.
I currently serve as a Trustee of the International Futures Forum and advise graduate students on governance futures as a Capstone Advisor at Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs. I also contribute to the Next G Alliance’s Societal and Economic Needs Working Group, which examines how advanced communications technologies will shape future social systems.
Previously, I was a Senior Manager at Deloitte, where I served as Strategic Foresight Lead for the Government & Public Services practice and co-led the firm’s counter–foreign influence work. Before that, I spent six years teaching strategic foresight and information strategy at Georgetown University.
Earlier in my career, I was appointed the first Chair of Information Integration at the U.S. National War College, where I focused on how information and influence shape strategic decision-making. I also led the World Future Society as President and CEO, modernizing the organization’s programs and financial foundation.
I live in New York City with my husband and son. When I’m not working with clients or students, or writing, you can find me with my family, walking by the Hudson River or exploring the city’s amazing art scene
In Practice
I work with leaders in a range of settings — from executive workshops and boardroom conversations to global
forums and public events.
Work With Me
Organizations bring me in when they need responsible, clear-eyed analysis of emerging change and a partner who can help them translate insight into decisive strategy.
